Aloha and welcome to Artistic Maui Wedding Photography. My name is David Whitney.

I love taking photos and working with people, and I live on Maui, one of the wedding capitals of the world, so it's a perfect fit. I have enjoyed working with clients and being part of the beginning of their wonderful journey, this is an honor I have always cherished.

I moved to Maui from Portland Oregon over 16 years ago. I am a third generation photographer. I borrowed my first camera, a Pentax, from my older brother in 6th grade so that I could take photography class and I have enjoy photography ever since.

Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, I moved to Maui, Hawaii in 1994. I was a very casual hobbyist photographer, up until 2000, when a close friend, Michael Schellhous of Eden West Weddings, asked if I could help photograph a wedding for a couple that had spontaneously planned a wedding. They couldn't find a photographer on such short notice. It was such a wonderful positive experience that right after that I co-created Artistic Maui Wedding Photography in 2001.

I continue this wedding photography company as an outlet for my creative passion for photography.
